The ADFIAP awards were created to publicize deals of exceptional significance, and promote the sharing of financial techniques, by honoring regional development banks which have demonstrated outstanding performance during the previous fiscal year.
JR Sapporo Hospital is the core medical facility for the central Hokkaido region. DBJ teamed with other financial institutions to put together a project finance scheme for the reconstruction of the hospital’s aging structures. Using a special purpose company (SPC), the team raised funds by utilizing the profit-making potential of the new hospital while separating the hospital’s ownership from its operation. (For details on this project, please visit http://www.dbj.jp/en/service/finance/profai/jrsapporohosp.html.) As medical services continue to advance in the future, we hope that many more hospitals will apply this scheme, which effectively supports the ideal allocation of medical functions and the enhancement of regional health care.
DBJ endeavors to support our clients’ business activities for regional redevelopment and vitalization, under the corporate philosophy of “Applying financial expertise to design the future: applying creative financing to resolve clients’ issues as we work to earn the trust of our clients and help them achieve their future prosperity”.
