Publication of 'Cable Television: The Industry Today and Its Outlook for the Future'
Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ; President and Chief Executive Officer: Toru Hashimoto) is pleased to announce the publication of a new survey report, 'Cable Television: The Industry Today and Its Outlook for the Future.'
DBJ began extending loans to cable television projects in 1984, and we have since provided more than 340 billion yen in loans and investments to some 220 companies in every part of Japan except Okinawa. This year's report analyzes the business conditions of cable television operators based on financial data for the 2012 fiscal year. It then presents the findings of a questionnaire survey in which operators were asked about their views on alliances made to enhance competitiveness, as well as the results of a fact-finding study on industry trends in the United States. The authors discuss the issues that must be addressed in order to achieve these alliances and end by proposing a number of courses of action.
Those with an interest in the report are invited to visit the DBJ website, where it can be found under "Other Reports" (https://www.dbj.jp/en/investigate/list/).
DBJ's reports are one means by which it fulfills its corporate philosophy, applying Financial Expertise to Design the Future. Using creative financing techniques to resolve customer issues, DBJ works with its customers to earn their trust and build a prosperous future.
