Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ), as one of the MLAs, along with other domestic and international banks, has jointly arranged the project finance for Green Power Ishikari GK (Minato-ku, Tokyo, [Mitsuru Sakaki, Executive Officer]; "Green Power Ishikari").
Green Power Ishikari was established for the purpose of offshore wind power generation at Ishikari Bay New Port, Hokkaido Prefecture, by Green Power Investment Corporation (Minato-ku, Tokyo, [Mitsuru Sakaki, Chief Executive Officer]).
Under the project, which is the first port offshore wind project in Hokkaido Prefecture, 112,000kW generation capacity wind plants will be constructed and operated. With the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 in Japan, this is a highly socially important project pioneering offshore wind power projects that are expected to widely spread and contributing to the further expansion of the introduction of renewable energy.
Under its 5th Mid-Term Management Plan (see the post "About the 5th Mid-Term Management Plan" dated May 20, 2021), DBJ is also promoting its GRIT Strategy,* aimed at fostering a sustainable society through investments and loans. This project will be actively promoted as an initiative connected to the GRIT Strategy.
