In response to increasing electricity demand and the need to achieve decarbonization, nuclear power generation is being re-evaluated, and the development of next-generation nuclear technologies is accelerating.
This report provides an overview of these new technologies and the challenges associated with implementing them, and then focuses on small modular reactors (SMRs), which are attracting particular attention internationally. It summarizes key issues related to SMR deployment and discusses approaches to strengthening industrial competitiveness.
