On November 11-12, 2021, RICF held an international conference “CSR, the Economy and Financial Markets” in collaboration with Global Finance Journal. This conference was originally planned and hosted by RICF in 2017, held also in Chicago (2018) and Düsseldorf (2019), and then back in Tokyo this year. A keynote speech was given by Professor Lucas Roth. While all the sessions were held in fully online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of high quality academic studies were presented and discussed with enthusiasm by researchers from all over the world.

28th NBER-TCER-CEPR Conference on "Financial System" was held on July 27th, 2019, co-sponsored by University of Tokyo (The Center for Advanced Research in Finance (CARF), and Center for International Research on the Japanese Economy (CIRJE)) and the Research Institute of Capital Formation (RICF), Development Bank of Japan.

27th NBER-TCER-CEPR Conference on "Globalization and Welfare Impacts of International Trade" was held on July 27th, 2018, co-sponsored by University of Tokyo (The Center for Advanced Research in Finance (CARF), and Center for International Research on the Japanese Economy (CIRJE)) and the Research Institute of Capital Formation (RICF), Development Bank of Japan.

On November 9-10, 2017, RICF held an international conference entitled CSR, the Economy and Financial Markets. In Part I (Nov. 9), a lecture and a speech were delivered from the perspective of sustainability, followed by a panel discussion regarding the role of firms and financial markets for a sustainable economy. In Part II (Nov. 9 and 10), in collaboration with Global Finance Journal, a keynote speech was given by Professor Megumi Suto, and high quality academic studies were presented by overseas researchers regarding the economic effects of corporate social responsibility.

26th NBER-TCER-CEPR Conference on "Corporate Governance" was held on Jun. 22th, 2017, co-sponsored by University of Tokyo (The Center for Advanced Research in Finance (CARF), and Center for International Research on the Japanese Economy (CIRJE)) and the Research Institute of Capital Formation (RICF), Development Bank of Japan. This is the follow-up conference of 26th TRIO Conference on corporate governance held from Dec. 8th to 9th, 2016.

26th NBER-TCER-CEPR Conference on "Corporate Governance" was held on Dec. 8-9th, 2016, co-sponsored by Center for Advanced Research in Finance (CARF), University of Tokyo, and the Research Institute of Capital Formation (RICF), Development Bank of Japan.

On November 18, 2011, RICF invited overseas researchers to attend an international conference covering the fields of corporate finance and corporate governance. This conference provided an opportunity for the candid exchange of opinions concerning the issues of firms such as the role of financial institutions and capital markets, and the allocations of control rights, through reports of the latest academic research results.

On March 5, 2010, RICF invited overseas researchers to attend an international workshop covering the fields of banking, financial markets and corporate governance. Following reports of advanced empirical studies employing unique data, these reports served as the basis for lively discussion among Japanese and overseas researchers.

The Research Center on Global Warming, created within RICF to study such environmental issues as global warming from the perspective of social common capital, invited some of the world's prominent economists, including Nobel laureates in economics, to two international symposiums held in November 1995, entitled "Environment and Sustainable Development."
