DBJ Environmentally Rated Loan Program is a loan program utilizing a screening (rating) system developed by DBJ that evaluates enterprises on the level of their environmental management and then sets financial conditions based on these evaluations.     The company has explicitly declared its contribution to a sustainable society through establishing the Sustainability Promotion Committee chaired by the CEO and starting a medium-term management plan based on seven material issues identified and addressed by the management.

    The company focuses on the sustainable use of fishery resources. It has acquired the world's first Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification for cultured Buri Yellowtail, using their unique aquaculture technology, and has actively procured Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified fish. Moreover, they have worked to build a sustainable supply chain by conducting large-scale surveys on fishery resource procurement and other surveys on CSR procurement.

    The company has continued efforts to reduce environmental impact in the manufacturing process across the group, such as by collecting fish oil discharged during the refinement process for health product eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and reutilizing it in the form of biomass energy, as well as efforts to raise consumers’ environmental awareness toward reducing food loss.
