NiX Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Toyama, Toyama Prefecture), is a construction consulting firm that contributes to society by providing value-added technological services for establishing social capital. In Japan, the NiX Group possesses a top-notch track record and knowhow for evaluating the feasibility of small hydroelectric power plants. The company has installed and operates several power stations in the Hokuriku region to undertake renewable energy operations on its own. At present, the company is using its consulting skills and the knowledge it obtained from renewable energy projects in Japan to undertake a hydroelectric power plant project in Indonesia. This is the first time the company is taking on an overseas investment project.
DBJ, through its Special Investment Operations, invested in the preferred shares of NiX New Energy Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Toyama, Toyama Prefecture; "NNE"). NNE independently handles the NiX Group's renewable energy business. This investment was carried out to financially support the measures being carried out by the NiX Group.
This project supplied capital at the development stage. By sharing in the risk at this stage, DBJ not only was able to support the company's growth with capital but concurrently contributed to the promotion of funding from local financial institutions.
DBJ looks to support the fortification of the competitiveness of local companies through their overseas expansion.
