Hibiya Park Front Redevelopment with Partners Kenedix and Tokyu Land

The Hibiya Park Front building underwent redevelopment in a joint project carried out by Kenedix, Inc. (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), Tokyu Land Corporation (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) and DBJ and completed in May 2017. Based on the concept of "office in the park," the building ultimately leverages its benefit of being situated next to Hibiya Park. Greenery is abundantly used throughout the interior and exterior of the building, giving the image that the park extends into the building, encompassing its occupants and visitors in natural comfort.

The building's occupants-only sky lounge and sky garden rooftop offers an open space decorated with trees and shrubbery. The environment is conducive to diverse workstyles, including a place to have lunch, take breaks and hold meetings or a space for people to individually refocus. The natural greenery of the Hibiya Park Front building offers an office environment replete with not only healing properties but also opportunities for an enriched workstyle for office workers.

The Hibiya Centrium, an area on the site for raising trees and plants, is a collection of 100 types of plants that grow in Hibiya Park and a measure for biodiversity preservation included in the site's business continuity plan. Commended under the DBJ Green Building Certification system, the building is recognized as one of Japan's top-class, superior buildings exhibiting excellent environmental and social awareness.

DBJ is undertaking new urban development via redevelopment to contribute to the maintenance of urban functions that are eco-friendly and highly resilient to disaster.
