Investing in Hanabisouzo to Supply Capital for New Plant Construction as Part of the Development of a Production System (Special Investment Operations)

Hanabisouzo K.K. (Hanabi Creative Enterprise) (headquarters: Daisen, Akita Prefecture), a newly established core company implementing the Daisen Fireworks Industry Scheme, is funded by local companies and financial institutions. The company is positioned as the main entity in the establishment of the Omagari fireworks production site, a project to support the launch of fireworks.

Hanabisouzo aims to achieve growth underpinned by regional revitalization and globalization, by acquiring knowledge from and collaborating with investors in the manufacture of fireworks, to plan and carry out fireworks events, and to deploy operations overseas. DBJ believes that the company's activities are pioneering and superior when considering the regional revitalization via the honing of regional resources through these measures. DBJ has supported the company's operations mainly by issuing a research report titled "Growth Strategy for the Fireworks Industry--Aiming for Market Growth and Regional Revitalization through Cooperation and Competition."

This project looks to support the growth of Hanabisouzo through collaborations with local financial institutions. DBJ, implementing its Special Investment Operations, provided a part of the capital for the company to construct a new plant to help it achieve its goal of building a production system for fireworks.

Note: The Daisen Fireworks Industry Scheme is an industry promotion plan devised by the Omagari Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The goal is to industrialize events and revitalize the region by working in combination with the manufacturing, tourism, and commerce industries. The scheme will leverage the brand strength of the Omagari fireworks, which is one of Japan's leading nationwide fireworks competitions, held in the Omagari district of Daisen City. The scheme also looks to utilize the high level of technological, planning, and operational knowhow related to fireworks production and launching and fireworks event management.
