DBJ has invested in Vertex Master Fund II LP, an Affiliated Venture Capital Fund of Temasek Holdings

Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ) has invested in Vertex Master Fund II LP (VMF II), a venture capital fund newly launched by Vertex Venture Holdings Ltd., a Singapore-based venture capital arm of Temasek Holdings.

VMF II, a venture capital fund also based in Singapore, invests globally through its network funds located in Singapore, Silicon Valley, Israel, India and China. It focuses on early stage startup companies in ICT and healthcare, sectors in which Vertex has established a track record of strong performance and expertise. Vertex will provide business support to its portfolio companies by encouraging partnerships with Temasek-related companies and Japanese companies.

DBJ supports cooperation between Japanese companies and overseas startup companies. This investment in VMF II enables DBJ to facilitate connections with Vertex's portfolio companies and contribute to Japanese companies' global networking and business development, leading to enhanced innovation. In addition, DBJ plans to support global business expansion of Japanese startup companies through cooperation with DBJ Capital, a venture capital arm of the DBJ Group.

"Design the future with financial expertise: continue to expand financial frontiers; provide the best solutions for customers and society; pursue sustainable development for Japan and the world." Based on this corporate philosophy, DBJ will actively support the innovation of Japanese companies.
