Investment Decision in Marunouchi Climate Tech Growth Fund L.P.

Development Bank of Japan Inc. (hereinafter "DBJ") has announced its decision to invest in Marunouchi Climate Tech Growth Fund L.P. (hereinafter "the Fund"), which is managed by Marunouchi Innovation Partners Inc. (hereinafter "MIP"; head office, Tokyo; CEO Ichiro Miyoshi). The investment agreement has been signed accordingly.

MIP is an investment management company established by Mitsubishi Corporation (hereinafter "Mitsubishi Corp."), MUFG Bank, Ltd., and Pavilion Private Equity Co., Ltd. The primary objective of the Fund is to invest in companies with advanced technologies and new solutions that contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society.

As a key player in the decarbonization field originating from Japan and the Asia region, the Fund aims to invest in companies that have technologies related to decarbonization in the commercialization and scaling phases. Leveraging the industrial expertise, business networks, and other resources of Mitsubishi Corp. Group, the main sponsor, as well as strategic investors, the Fund will support the growth of its portfolio companies.

Through its investment in the Fund, DBJ aims to understand global investment trends in the decarbonization field and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality by promoting innovation and utilizing DBJ's risk capital supply.
